Addendums to the book "In Search of the Turkey Foot Road"

    Although the book "In Search of the Turkey Foot Road is groundbreaking in terms of reporting the discovery of the Revolutionary War origin of the legendary road and delineating much of its route, it has always been a bit disappointing to me because of certain mistakes it contains. For example, it was only after publication that I was able to deduce that the dashed line routes on the 1755 Fry and Jefferson map represent Christopher Gist's western tours for the Ohio Company. The addendums above are provided in an attempt to correct such mistakes.

    Because the history of the Turkey Foot Road is relevant to the regions of Maryland and Pennsylvania it passes through, I incorporated the description of its Revolutionary War origin in Volume 2 of the 2019 book "Fort Cumberland". I also created the following interactive map that compares the route of the Turkey Foot Road (red dots) to the route of Braddock's Road (blue dots):
